The relationship between Hedera and Australian Payments Plus (AP+) became official in January 2024, when AP+ joined the Hedera Governing Council. AP+, which combines eftpos, BPAY and NPP Australia, handles a large share of the country’s payment traffic. The partnership aims to modernize payment infrastructure with fast, secure and low-cost distributed ledger technology. In 2025, the AUDD stablecoin launched on Hedera, reinforcing their shared goal: efficient digital payments, near-instant settlement, and a bridge between traditional and digital money.
